I embarked on my training to become a life coach having experienced the power of coaching first hand.
For more than two decades, I led services at a senior level within local government. A few years ago I engaged a coach to support me in my application for a new role. With his support I was shortlisted for an interview. Not happy to leave it there, he sensed a disconnect between my actions and what was truly important to me. He challenged me and helped me acknowledge that my trajectory of a promotion was not aligned to what I truly wanted.
Embracing this truth sparked a powerful personal transformation. I withdrew from the recruitment process and embarked on a journey of self discovery that resulted in me pursuing my coaching qualification. I am happier, more confident and better aligned to my values which has transformed how I show up at work and in my personal relationships.
I am passionate about my coaching work and I work with a small number of coaching clients alongside my role as Service Director in Local Government.
Other things about me:
Born in the Netherlands and having spent part of my childhood in Spain, I moved to Scotland in 1991 to start university. My journey then led me to Wales before I settled on the Sussex coast in 2005. The UK is now very much 'home'.
I live on the south coast in Sussex with my husband, Craig. We met in Brighton in 2005 and moved to Worthing in 2023 where we took on renovating our 'fixer-upper' to create a home we truly love.
Some of my happy pastimes that bring me fulfillment are:
being in the great outdoors - I can often be found walking our dog Themba on the beach or in the South Downs National Park.
friends and family, catching up over good food and wine.
traveling, I have been lucky enough to visit some remarkable places both near and far.
